- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup candy coated chocolate pieces (like smarties or m&m's)
Cream together the shortening, peanut butter and sugar.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Add in the baking powder, baking soda, flour and oats.
Stir in the chocolate chips and smarties.
Drop the dough by the tablespoon onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 375 F for 10 minutes.
I snuck some whole grain flour into this recipe, but if you don't have it don't sweat it. Just substitute with white flour.
Any soy nut butter or peanut butter substitute can be swapped for the peanut butter if there are allergies in the family.
- Substitute Wow butter or any soy-nut butter for the peanut butter to make a more school friendly snack.
